LOCATION: Detroit, Michigan
CLIENT: Stacy and Witbeck Inc.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The M-1 Light Rail Project is a 2.5-year project on Woodward Avenue in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. A 3.3-mile track is being installed between Congress Street and West Grand Boulevard to support a group of circulating street cars. In addition to the light rail, a complete rebuild of the roadway including: 2.5-miles of new and updated storm drains, installation of 31 manholes and over 30 miles of DTE conduit, all new street lighting and traffic signals, and updated walkways, curbs, and crossovers are being constructed. The light rail will have 12 stops traveling from the North End to Downtown. M-1 Rail has high hopes of igniting over $3 billion in economic development over the next ten years; which could bring over 10,000 new housing units and 5 million square feet of new commercial space.
